How To Organize Small Toys

Storage solutions for toys are a necessity around here, especially when said toys come with many pieces and parts. Since we don’t have a designated playroom, I’ve had to get creative with storage and borrow space anywhere I can find it. I recently bought a vertical shoe rack to manage some of the pesky piece chaos. Not only is this tucked away behind closed doors, it optimizes storage and takes up minimal space.

My organization method is simple. The hardest-to-reach items are those that need some supervision, and the others are all kid-safe and kid-accessible.

I was able to find rectangular containers that fit inside each compartment perfectly from Daiso for $1.50 each.

My favorite thing about this system is the easy – but hidden – access.

Love this idea! Could you please share specifics as to exactly which size vertical storage rack and which sku # for the Daiso containers that fit? I looked at their site and can’t deterwhich one works? Thanks a bunch!

Hi Mary, thanks for reading! I bought my storage rack from Home Goods, but here is a link to a similar 10-pocket storage rack: https://www.amazon.com/mDesign-Hanging-Organizer-Handbags-Clutches/dp/B06XMYPTHT/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1537392442&sr=8-7&keywords=hanging+shoe+storage.

The dimensions of the boxes are 13.5″ long x 5.5″ wide x 4.5 tall, but I wasn’t able to find these dimensions online with Daiso, so maybe the size I got are available in-store only?
