Settle in for a books chat! Sarah is joined by two guest co-hosts from our contributor team today: Joanna and Katherine. Both are former educators and avid readers, here with lots to say about books. We touch on our reading lives as moms, what we’re reading lately, and how and when we prefer to do our reading. Then we dive into book recommendations for kids – starting with babies and moving all the way up through teens. This episode is for anyone who loves to read or aspires to read more – grab a warm beverage and join us!
Grab your favorite beverage and cozy up for a catch-all catch-up with Meagan and Sarah! We talk about the season, the weather, our recent travels, and some fun updates from the business! Then Sarah is joined by our resident Books Talk contributor Katie Addiss to talk about holiday books, what we’ve been reading lately, and how we read while traveling–both to ourselves and to our kids.
Mom-friends are a true gift–but they’re just one type of female friendship we’ve benefitted from over the years. Today we’re talking about building relationships with women we admire – mentors, colleagues, fellow entrepreneurs, and just generally awesome ladies. From where we find them and how we initiate a first friend-date to what kinds of friendships we like to have in our professional circles, we’re unpacking all the benefits to surrounding yourself with women you admire. PLUS Katie Addiss joins Sarah for another Books Talk segment, where you’ll hear our list of picture books we’re never giving away – these are the keepers on our shelves that have been loved for years, and for good reason.
Our love of picture books continues as we reach into our vast collections, pull out a few of our favorites, and share the features that brings us back time and time again. While all of them may not be the titles our kids grab first, they’re the ones that we look forward to the most and those we plan to hang onto for years to come.
We’re known by many as fun-haters (see Episode 10 for the backstory!), but does this still hold true four years later? We revisit the fun-list today–everything from pushing kids on the swings, to parades and carnivals, to craft projects–to see whether our opinions have changed. PLUS Katie Addiss joins Sarah to talk about what we’ve been reading, what makes for a great beach read, and what’s on our book list for this summer.
Whether you’re reading poolside at a resort, towel-bound at the nearest beach, or from the comfort of your own bed, Sarah and Katie have summer book picks that fit any of the above. Though very different, our selections both move quickly and can be picked up and put down easily! Happy Summer Reading!
