I have a lot of feelings as we approach this new chapter as a family. I am so excited to meet your little sister and see you as a big sister, and I am sad that our time with you as the only one is coming to a close. am both grieving the inevitable absence of our one-on-one time, and also am so excited to see you in this new role of big sister.

Encourage Independence In Preschoolers With A “Quiet Time” Routine
There’s something glorious that happens every day in the early afternoon: I work on writing in my room with a cup of tea while my daughter, immersed in her imagination, works on a self-directed craft project building her stuffed owl a swing from construction paper: this is the magic of quiet time.
How To Help Your Kids Burn Energy Indoors
Left unchecked, kid energy can consume anything and everything in its path. Outdoor play was and still is a big priority at our house, and as twin parents we’ve found that as we need strategies for indoor “energy management” so the kids aren’t wrestling by 7:30 a.m. We need a way to harness the energy while also managing bad weather, sick siblings, nursing babies, and dinner prep. Holiday Hills To Die On (And How To Let Go A Little): Episode 388
From Halloween through New Year’s we’re given opportunities to create new traditions and fulfill holiday wishes – sometimes of our own design and, increasingly as kids get older, sometimes at our kids’ behest. This week Meagan and Sarah talk about the bell curve of holiday parenting: the early influence we have over just how things look and what fun is had, the middle dip as we learn to let go and kid-life dominates, and then the later years when we get to reclaim some control and design a season for our own desires. None of it is all-good or all-hard; but it changes over time and we’re here for your pre-holidays 2022 motherhood pep talk – wherever you find yourself on that curve.
